Daniel L. Burkhead, M.D.


Dr. Daniel Burkhead earned his Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Biology and Psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He continued his training with a Medical Internship and Residency in Anesthesiology at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Burkhead then went on to a Postgraduate Fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Washington Pain Center in Seattle.

Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Burkhead has been in practice in Las Vegas since 1999, and he opened Innovative Pain Care Center in 2001. He is also an active researcher, and is currently the principal investigator for several clinical studies involving chronic pain. Dr. Burkhead serves on the Board of Managers for the Innovative Procedural & Surgical Center and is an active participant in DEA programs designed to curtail the prescription drug abuse problem in America.

Dr. Burkhead is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, International Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists and International Association for the Study of Pain, among others. He has been recognized for his skill and knowledge throughout his career, receiving such accolades as Patient Choice Awards and selection as a Top Doctor in both Seven magazine and Las Vegas Life magazine.

The author of several articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Burkhead frequently lectures on pain topics in various medical settings around the country. In his free time, Dr. Burkhead enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing the saxophone and participating in a range of outdoor activities.
