Michael P. Scott, P.A.-C

We are happy to welcome Michael Scott, PA-C the newest member of the IPCC Family of Pain Practitioners. Preston has been in Practice in Nevada for the last 15 years. He is also a retired Army Non-Commissioned Army and former Deputy Sheriff. He has been a student at several military and civilian academic institutions while working towards his Physician Assistant Certification. These include the US Army Academy of Health Sciences, George Washington University for undergraduate Pre-Medical Training, and the University of Washington School of Medicine Medex Academy for Physician Assistant training, achieving Phi Beta Theta status while enrolled.

He has an impeccable military service record, with Commendations for service in multiple combat deployments including, Operation Just Cause in Panama and Operations Dessert Shield/ Desert Storm while a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. These experiences in combat ultimately led to his decision to pursue medicine as a career. His final duty assignment was with the 1st Special Forces Group at Fort Lewis Washington where he served as a Garrison Support Medic with the Special Operations Clinic at Madigan Army Medical Center. Working with the Physician Assistants in this clinic was key to his decision to become a PA. Unfortunately he was forced to retire early due to service connected injuries after 15 years, but was proud to serve his country and has a high degree of admiration for fellow veterans from all branches of the Armed Service.

His previous work experience was centered in the areas of Internal Medicine, both in a general practice setting and as a hospitalist. He has also had significant training in Orthopedics and Pain Management, having done both exclusively for 3 years with Carson Douglas Pain Care in Northern Nevada. He is particularly confident in ability to perform joint injections, trigger point injections, and other minimally invasive procedures that can be done in the office. He likes these because they are expedient and rapidly afford patients with significant relief if done on the right patient at the right time. He is looking forward to expanding his abilities in the treatment of Spine related discomfort and General Pain Medicine practices to provide the highest quality therapy using the latest evidenced based medicine therapies.

His personal interest includes spending time with family and friends, (he is married and has 4 children) and performing activities that promote health, wellness, and continued self-development. He has a profound interest in the Martial Arts, having studied them for over 35 years and obtaining a Black Belt in 3 separate disciplines. He is presently pursuing an Academic credential from Concordia University and expects to complete his PhD in Applied Science and Technology later this year.

He is very excited about applying his training and experience to help improve the quality of life for the patients of Innovative Pain Care Center and continuing to grow personally and professionally as a member of our team of dedicated professionals.
